Thanks for popping over. This is me, at least this was me when I was five years old and living in London.
This is me now, 47 years later and living on the Surf Coast in Victoria Australia.
Born in Nigeria, Africa, I lived in Cornwall, UK until the age of ten. I then came with my family to live in Australia. I went to school in Ballarat, moved to Melbourne as an adult and ended up on the Surf Coast where I live now. Moving to the Surf Coast must have unlocked my creativity as this is where I began to write.
Mostly I write rhyming poems for children with many of them having been published in The School Magazine. I also write picture books. One published with Walker Books Australia and one in the pipeline with black dog books.
The Croc and Platypus was published in 2014 (Walker Books) and was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards, 5 to 8 years category in 2015. It is being reissued with a new cover in January 2019.
Road Trip (to be published by black dog books in 2019) is being illustrated by the wonderful Tom Jellett.
2019 is proving to be a fabulous year as I have also been awarded a May Gibbs Creative Time Residential Fellowship this a dream come true and one for which I am truly thankful.
To see where else I’ve been published you can go here.
Thanks again for popping by and do have a look around, there’s lots on offer especially if you, like me, enjoy writing in rhyme.
